Do iOS updates really matter?

Yes. Many updates fix holes attackers are already using. Go to Settings, General, Software Update, and turn on Automatic Updates so you never fall behind.

Why It Matters

Your iPhone holds your email, bank and photos. Updates close the holes attackers use to get at them.

What To Do

  1. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  2. Install any update that's waiting.
  3. Tap Automatic Updates and turn on both downloading and installing iOS updates.
  4. Leave your phone charging on Wi-Fi overnight, which is when updates usually install.
