How do I find my router's model?

Lesson 3 of 10 in Your Wi-Fi And Router

Look at the sticker on the bottom or back of the router. The model is usually next to "Model" or "Model No." Type it in on the Network tab and Vigil checks it for known security holes.

Why It Matters

Vigil needs the exact model to look up whether that router has known security holes. Without it, that check can't run.

What To Do

  1. Find the sticker on the bottom or back of your router.
  2. Look for the word Model or Model No. and note what follows, letters and numbers exactly.
  3. If there's no sticker, check your router's app or the box it came in.
  4. Type the model into the Network tab in Vigil, then run the checkup.
