How often should I run a checkup?

Lesson 2 of 4 in Your Checkup

Once a week. Vigil never scans on its own, so a quick weekly checkup is how you spot a new device or a change at home. The reminder tells you when it's time.

Why It Matters

Vigil only looks at your home when you run a checkup. A new device on your Wi-Fi, or a changed router setting, stays unnoticed until you check.

What To Do

  1. Pick a day that's easy to remember, like Sunday morning.
  2. When the reminder comes, open Vigil while you're at home on your own Wi-Fi.
  3. Run the checkup and look at anything new since last week.
  4. Fix one thing if something new shows up, then you're done for the week.

Check your own home

Vigil by Cortex is a weekly Wi-Fi checkup for iPhone. One tap checks every device on your Wi-Fi and what the internet can see, then shows you what to fix, step by step.
